Tapeka Point is located 1 km north of Flagstaff Hill, near Russell.
About the area

Located just two minutes from historic Russell, Tapeka Point is the perfect base for exploring and enjoying the Bay of Islands by land or water.

There is a beautiful white sandy beach safe for swimming and a second rocky beach for fishing and diving. A boat-ramp, deep-water boat mooring, swimming pontoon, ski-lane, and grassy reserve make it an idyllic location for a relaxing or active break.
Description

A grassy track gives access to views from a pa site over the Bay of Islands from Du Fresne Place and carpark.

Just a short walk from Point Beach where you can swim in a great sheltered beach, Topeka might be a bit steep for some but.

It’s not far and well worth the effort for the panoramic views from Paihia around to Te Rawhiti inlet. Doesn’t cost a bean.

One of the most spectacular views of North Island.

Photo opportunities are great even during the day, not to mention golden hours.

If you are in Paihia, I really recommend you taking the ferry to Russell.

The ferry costs little money! Russell is a much nicer place and has much better beaches. And from Russell you can go to the Tapeka Point which is a great lookout with 360 degree views. Highly recommended!!
