Never go again(second trip, the first time was alright), bad staff.
My friend went to reception first then I arrived 10 mins later. I thought just me feeling bad mood because of the reception. Then after setting up the tent, my friend started the conversation about reception. Then I know it\'s not case by case. She might be racist or she is working with emotion.
The older lady at the reception was not good at all. Even if you want your guests to listen to all the camp rules, and I say I\'ve been here before, you can still reply with a good attitude that it\'s a routine and not a very fierce order that someone has to listen to(with very bad tone). It was a very bad camping experience and ruined my good mood at the beginning.

Very nice campsite, we got to choose our spot right up to the beach with a wonderful view.
Clean and neat facilities, nice spacious sites. They are very safety conscious and check your electrical cert on the caravan, and no bikes or scooters to be ridden around the site. We would most definitely come again.

Staff were really friendly and welcoming.
Let us change sites no problem. The beach front sites have a lovely view, though it is more or an estaurine beach. There is a little alleyway from the campground to the dairy of you need anything. Good price over the off-peak winter season

Very nice big camp ground.
Was very quiet when i visited & was given a single rate $20 unpowered incl shower tokens. Showers in block i used were hot & powerful. Kitchen looked nice. Pay the extra $5 for the sites with views directly to the ocean, lovely. All good here.

A beautiful campground right on the estuary with amazing views to the Whangarei Heads .
Great for bird watching and kayaking or just relaxing watching the tides . Walk at low tide around the estuary to the surf beach . Spotlessly clean facilities . An older campground and you do have to use tokens for showers and cooking .
A stunning location and very safe . Stay a few days and unwind . Sit on the jetty and watch the sun set . Great playground for kids .

A powered site for two people costs $39.
Five minutes of shower costs 60 cents. A large family-friendly campsite directly by the sea. Nevertheless, quiet and well-mannered. Enough showers and toilets are available. All clean. Average cost / benefit ratio.

A great spot for our campervan at $20 per head.
If you are camping, be self-sufficient with food etc because there are no shops nearby. Tokens are required for everything in the shower and kitchen block which is a bit of a downer. You will get a couple of tokens when you book but you will probably have to buy more.

You have to pay for everything extra (microwave/toaster/cooking/shower...) Really bad service.
We had an unpowered place. For $17, really bad. Very, very old facilities. We didn't feel comfortable.

We arrived in the afternoon and stayed the night.
It was the only campground in the area with vacancy, and we found out why!!
There was a security guard on the gate , which instantly gave a weird impression.
The owner of the park was buzzing around the park on a quad bike reprimanding people staying there, and passed by our camp with some rude offhanded remarks about not wandering around for us as well.
When we attempted to leave in the morning, the woman in the office very aggressively told us to 'go away the office isn't open'. The fat man, already revving around the park on his bike, was flagged down but then told us we couldn't leave!!
Needless to say we were shocked, and even more so when he started getting threatening when we asked him why!!
It wasn't until we advised him we would call the police that he backed off and opened the park gate.
Needless to say it was a very bizarre and off-putting experience. We'd like to do our part in warning people away.

With regards to your review, we take on board what your comments. We would like to clarify a few things, you arrived very late that night, so security let you in with the understanding that our office wont be open until 9am for payment of site fee. You agreed to this and were happy with this at the time of entry. We dont have anyone riding around on quad motor bikes late in the night, our security only walk so not sure what you are referring to here. Unfortunately when you went to leave the next morning it was very early and staff were called and tried to explain that you wouldnt be able to depart the camp until 9am, they said you were not very happy with this and got extremely frustrated and angry. In the end someone came into the office to take your payment so you could leave before the tension got any worse.

Paid shower and kitchen with no equipments besides microwave and hot plates.

Thanks for your comments, regarding the kitchen with no equipment - sadly every time we stock the kitchen with crockery, pots and pans they seem to walk and never return so have decided it is a costly task so we now have equipment you can borrow from us which we keep in the office. Sorry we didnt make this clearer at the time of your stay.

The most amazing spot.
Overlooking the inlet and heads. I watched sunrise over the water - gorgeous.
Facilities are good - don't forget coins for showers. Kitchen is good. WiFi is prepaid. Quiet spot, friendly staff and friendly locals. Worth the stop.

Extremely bad service and management - never going back.
We were welcomed to the camp by the receptionist who could not crack a smile and was completely rude. I had booked and paid for two cabins - one for me and one for a friend. I asked to check into the rooms and was told I could only check into one room, not the other. Even though I had paid for it! All our friends (12 in total) had a similar "welcoming" experience.
Next we had the security man lecture us and threaten to kick us out of the camp every night we were there (3 nights in total). The terms and conditions regarding noise were being adhered to by the group. When we asked if we were being noisy he said we weren't, but persisted with the lecture and threats. We are not teenagers (mid-late 30's) and were respectful of others - no loud music and soft talking.
In terms of facilities, the cabin has holes in the floor and the frying pan was filthy upon arrival. No BBQ'ing facilities were provided so we brought our own BBQ which we were told we couldn't use. Ridiculous.
The people who run this camp ruined the long weekend for my friends and I. I'll never go back there.
Judging from the previous reviews and follow up comments from the camp site, they have no idea about what good service looks like. The condescending manner in how they treat their customers on site is evident in the comments left on reviewers posts.
