When I found out that I would be traveling to Auckland for business I immediately began searching for dirtbike tours in New Zealand.

After a bit of effort I located Over the top Adventures. Several emails were exchanged with Stuart and the plans were set. I was a bit concerned about finding my way to Waihi from Auckland but it turned out to be a very easy and quite pleasant drive. Once in Waihi I met up with Stuart and headed out to hit the trails. It was a fantastic day of riding! For any dirt bike enthusiast I would highly recommend contacting Stuart. Doesn't get any better than this!

This is awesome- we had a great time on the 'safari' and saw lots of NZ bush and forest that we would not have found trailriding by ourselves.

Stuart was enthusiastic and couldn't do enough for us on the tour, even organising bigger bikes for the more experienced riders. Go do it!

We organised two days with Stuart, firstly a training day for five kids and four adults, secondly a full day adventure ride through the Kaimais.

The training day was brilliant - Stuart took time to explain details of the bikes and maintenance with the kids and then we all set off for a day in the bush. The kids came away from this 200% more confident in their abilities and had a wicked day in the forest and mud with many photos to prove it. The adventure ride for our crew was absolutely awesome. Every face had a grin a mile wide at the end of the day. The tracks were challenging but huge fun and the scenery was stunning. We also slipped in a winery lunch which was A1. I highly rate Stuart's rides - they are as good as anywhere in the country. We will be back soon.

    Excellent day biking.

I was an absolute beginner and stuart took the time to teach me everything I needed to have a great day. Good biking trails and a great laugh throughout the day. I highly recommend this activity, one of the best things I done in NZ.

Wish we could upload some photos!- what an awesome experience.

Sarah and I both ride bikes in the UK, but neither of us had ever ridden off road.

Over The Top Adventures took us waay into the back of somewhere and showed us the old goldmines and the Kauri logging dams built in th 1880s.

The riding was challenging, the Grunty KTM525 that I rode was a wicked beast! Sarah's Honda 250 way perfect for her. Our guide, Stuart knew all the history and stories about where we went. He took loads of photos of us and we got them at no extra charge. Lunch was a treat- dressed in muddy bike gear we sat at the flash winery and ate a delicious lunch then back into the hills for more riding. I lost count of all the stuff we saw butthe highlight was riding dirtbikes underground!- easily the best thing we did while in NZ.

    What a great day.

Combination of reasonably technical riding in areas we woulnt be able to get to and very informative history of the area from Stu.He has done a lot of research and knows his stuff. He was a pleasure to be with and had organised a great day, right down to a sit down lunch at another local attraction. He had taken the time to understand our riding ability and interests and organised the day to suit.I would certainly recommend Over The Top Adventures .

It was an awesome sunny day in the Kaimai Ranges after a period of rain and the off road experience travelling in the Taniwha 8 wheeled open top vehicle was loads of fun.

There had been some rain on earlier days leaving some areas of the track in water. This only added to the excitement as we motored along creating splashes of water and a lot of laughs. Our guide/driver was not only a wealth of knowledge of the gold mining area, he also was easy going and lively making the difference between a fun day out to a highlight. Recomended

    Wow! What an awesome day.

I took my son along for him to try the off road for the first time and Stuart had him riding within minutes. After a bit of instruction and maintenance tips we were on the farm and riding through the cones. What I thought would be a bit of a tame day, being my sons first time, ended up being an awesome trail ride across a farm up and down some hilly terrain and a couple of river crossings, with a few open patches to let it rip. Stuart took photos along the way and followed up with some memorable pics for us to reminisce. Can't wait for the next ride!

I knew that Stu was offering guided trail bike rides in the region for some time, but i'd never actually gone on one of his rides.

A mate turned up from Aussie and wanted to trail ride, so i tagged along. What a wonderful day out, not only did we ride some awesome trails in the Coromandel jungle, but Stu showed us the gold heritage of yesteryear and where the townships used to be, he took us thru mining tunnels on the bikes, into water bogs and we got off the bikes and walked into another gold mine tunnel, only to be shown the cave wetas on our exit as Stu shone the torch on the ceiling as they scurried around.....this was enough for my aussie mate and he ran out like a big girl. I highly rate a day out with Stu for awesome riding, a history lesson on gold and he's a good bloke too. I'm a Harley man myself and I've done a lot of trail riding, as for my Aussie mate...he was a broken man from the trail riding and needs to harden up....good on ya Stu, I'm up for another ride sometime soon, I'll be leaving my aussie mates behind on the next ride.

Over the top adventures – what a stand out company and a fantastic experience.

River crossings, sand, mud, forest trails with huge ferns, the knarly rock garden and some awesome views. You choose what you want to do and how much you can handle. First time on dirt and I rode my ass off in fact I think I left some of it in the ranges just out of Waihi. Thanks to Stuart and his mate (Davet)for their patients and encouragement which left me with some huge memories, absolutely no energy left at the end of the day but with the tongue wagging for more.

Highly recommended whatever your skill level -- fully sick mate.

    Cheers

    Sir Richard.

Having never been on a dirt bike before this was a truly brilliant, exceptional experience. We learnt so much and saw some amazing scenery. The full day tour catered for all levels of experience. Fantastic lunch at the winery and Stuart (owner/guide) was very informative and helpful. Can highly recommend this even if you have no experience. Would do it again without hesitation.

that ride was the first on a dirt bike.

I had more than 8 years experience in bike riding but

I booked the 4 hours ride and I was alone with Stuart the guide/owner. We had a very funny afternoon and lot of awesome action (I felt 5 times of the bike in the mud)! Stuart was very helpfully and gave me a lot of hints how to get a better dirt bike rider. I also think the prices are very fair compared with other

    adventure companies in New Zealand!

Stuart was thorough at checking bikes over and spent quite some time giving advice and tips to my 14 year old son which was helpful. The terrain was definitely challenging in places. A fun guy and had an enjoyable day out. Very nice touch to send out a CD of photo's that Stuart took of the day.

    Excellent, a brilliant day.

My partner and I did a half day coaching course. The coaching was excellent, covered so many essential topics about trailriding. The course was tailored to each of our differing riding skills: me being a beginner and partner with more experience. Took in some amazing trails - unforgettable. Learnt lots about the history of the area that we didn't know (even though we live in the area). Stuart was a very attentive coach and guide - and was great at picking my bike up for me!!

Can't wait to do another tour.

Highly recommended and very good value for money.

awesome experience and lots of laughter on that afternoon!

As an absolute beginner I was more off the bike and in the mud than on it, but Stuart was very helpful and had the right bike for my short legs. Plenty of time in between to enjoy the beautiful scenery, the food was good and the journey through time to the old gold miners very interesting. Want to do it again!
