    We were quite skeptical at first, given the comments, but we were amazingly surprised!

    We got the car we booked and did not have any problem whatsoever. Their customer service is really shitty by email, but the guys we've met in Christchurch were nice, helpful and competent. It's true however that the tires were in poor condition, but they did the job.

    We did not see any car wash on the road, but they said cleaning was on them, which saved us a bit of trouble. Thanks a lot for your car, we've had an amazing trip with it!!!

    I was pretty sceptical to book with this company at first due to the negative reviews.

    Turns out it wasn't bad at all and I felt obligated to share my experience.

    1. I booked twice from this company. One in South and one in North Island.

    2. The pick up at Christchurch went up smoothly. They picked us up on time from our Motel and our car was given shortly after we arrived at the company.

    3. Christchurch branch was pretty small with limited cars. The one that we booked (economy wagon) has carried us around New Zealand without any problem. It wasn't brand new but who need new car for travel. As long as it works its fine. If there would be any complain, we wish the tyres could be better. (They worn a bit but still usable)

    4. The price was really cheap. While other company raised their price significantly during peak season, Quality Rental still maintained its low price. We think it's really worth our money. Our economy wagon which have massive luggage room is about the same price as compact car in other company. Hard to beat.

    5. The drop off was smooth as well. They didn't check out the car that much since we purchased zero excess insurance. They even gave us a ride back to our Motel afterward.

    6. For Auckland branch, the experience was pretty much the same. Except the branch was bigger with more cars.

    7. They do reply my email within a reasonable time on my request to pick up at spesific place.

    In conclusion, we really had a good experience with this company. We wouldn't say the car was perfect, but it was well worth the money.

    Pickup service at Auckland Airport did not work well.

    Unfriendly staff in Auckland, cheap rental without extra charges. Drop off was very uncomplicated (Wellington).

    BE CAREFUL WITH THIS GUYS.

    SCAM ALERT!!!!

    Their cars are in terrible conditions. I almost had a very bad accident, because the tire blew up in the middle of a highway. When I went to the workshop, the guy said that it was illegal in New Zealand to drive cars with such terrible tires. So I had to replace FOUR TIRES. I had paid full insurance for the car, but still, they charged my credit card for the repair, and they will ignore you, because they have your credit card number, so they do whatever they want. BE CAREFUL!!! besides your money, your life is in danger with this company, which ironically has “Quality” only on the name.

    Ps.: they also keep charging your credit card for supposed parking tickets or speed fines, but NEVER send a copy of the infraction. RUN RUN RUN!

    Everything fine so far.

    They picked us up from the hostel. Really cheap prices. Car does not look brand new, but it has been very reliable. Would definitely recommend them.

    Cheap price.

    No one-way fee. Ferry between the islands included. Passengers have to pay for the ferry though.

    If you value your time or adventure in NZ ***** DONT GO NEAR THESE GUYS.****** They are incompetent, deceitful and negligent.

    *****BE CAREFUL*****

    First I booked a van that I could sleep in. I checked twice verbally, & put it in my booking request, that the seats would fold down so I could sleep in the back. I told them I was over six foot tall. This was confirmed three times. It was confirmed by the boss - the seats fold down to become flat and smooth and you'll easily fit.

    When I arrived, a car turned up with no sign so I wandered around for half hour looking for them. We then drove to domestic, back to international, back to domestic for 45 minutes looking for the other hirers, screaming our randomly to tourists "looking for quality car rentals?". I ended up doing the yelling as the two ladies were too timid and it was testing my patience. Almost funny if not so pathetic.

    Then we got to the joint - they showed me a car with a boot of about a metres space. I asked "where do I sleep?" And Shalni sheepishly said "there. Sometimes small girls sleep there". This was my bed for a month. I kicked up such a fuss that she allowed me to choose another car but still had an awful uncomfortable month of sleeplessness, after making it so clear what I needed. I was told "yes the seats fold down, it is a flat smooth surface where u can sleep." Blatant lie - it was a bumpy ridged sloping surface of seats and buckles and edges.

    Then when I returned the car, the terminal 'conveniently' rejected the return of my bond, as they had reached their daily limit. I was promised an eft the next day. I chased it for two months, was promised it repeatedly and was even told twice that it had been transferred! It was never done. I eventually had to go to my bank which had to pursued it as a fraudulent/disputed transaction.

    YOU MAY THINK YOU'RE SAVING MONEY WITH THEIR RIDE...BUT ACTUALLY, YOU ARE BEING TAKEN FOR A RIDE ****BEWARE***

    This company is pathetic.

    I created a booking acknowledgement and received no contact about it. I emailed several times to both supplied email addresses as I wanted to go ahead with the booking and received nothing in reply. If they don't have a car available, the minimum you can do is let the customer know. After all of this, the other car that I was considering with another company was taken.. What a waste of my time. Just avoid this pathetic excuse for a company, they will only waste your time or money..

    If I could give them a negative rating I would!

    Quality?

    You must be joking. Poor customer service at pickup. Then found rear tyres were different sizes. 175 offside, 185 nearside. Illegal in NZ. 185s on the front. Got the OK to fix it at their tyre dealers. But they told the dealer to replace the correct 185 rear with a 175!! Cheap, yes. Worth it, no. The rest of our NZ trip was great.

    Worst experience ever.

    Horrible customer service. Be careful when booking, should you decide to cancel you may not receive your refund. We have been waiting a month for ours and staff continue to lie and say they have processed it. They advised it takes one to two days for refund to come through. Is been a month and have not yet received. Every day I call they say one more day...

    Very cold people. No customer service. There is about 3 people working for the company. It's quite dodgy. Haven't been able to speak to management. The guy that works in the Christchurch office was polite, but head office is horrible. Yes they are cheap, but I wouldn't risk it. They obviously don't care about repeat business because they have been really horrible through the whole cancellation process.
