    Bringing back the memories.

I initially thought about driving past this place. Wanaka town centre is boring with little to do. So I left the area early which gave me time to visit the outside attractions. Very happy that I stopped here.

It starts by going into a well priced toy and gift shop. The friendly guy then shows me how to navigate the place. Then I am let free to explore the toy museum that houses collections of toys from when I was younger and brings back found memories of my childhood. After this I explored barns and yards full of old and collectable cars, trucks, fire engines, tractors, etc etc etc. Allow plenty of time to visit especially if you are older and want to talk cars. You will not be disappointed.

Do not drive past this place. Stop in and enjoy.

A big museum with toys, machines and cars.

It is a paid attraction but it is worth it for the money.

Huge museum with heaps of small toys, large toys, classic cars, planes.

Massive, well worth a look and at $12 each, very affordable.

    What a wonderful find !

My wife and I could have spent two days wondering through the four aircraft hangars, that make up this museum at Wanaka Airport. At NZD 12 each in April 2012, it is great value for money. Despite it being tagged as a museum, it is more of a collection, but this is part of its charm. From Smurfs, Barbie dolls, doll houses, salt and pepper shakers, highly unusual Jim Bean bottles, meccano, pedal cars, cars, bikes, lawn mowers, Seagull outboard motors, the list goes on and on. Truly wonderful and worth a visit.

Has to be one of Wanakas hidden secrets.

I had never heard of this place but so glad we stopped in. The collections they have are absolutely amazing. Its all self guided so you can take as long as you want exploring all the different buildings they have on offer. There are literally thousands of toys, cars, models and antiques to look at. Make sure you bring an empty memory stick in your camera for the hundreds of photos you are going to want to take and be warned that all your childhood memories will come flooding back looking at all the old toys! Look forward to going back again!

This place is not a museum but an Awesome collection.

You must allow yourself at least 4 hours or so to enjoy this. Very cheap entry for a private collection. Absolute MUST SEE for all ages.

What a gem of a place...for my boys it was car lover's heaven!

Such an eclectic range of stuff too! We even found a Bedford Truck like my grandpa used to drive. Well worth a visit
