We hired a van from NZ Frontiers for a post Covid catch-up with relatives & friends around the North Island.
The whole process from quotation through delivery and return was conducted directly with Kenrick in a professional and personal manner. The van was superbly provisioned with everything we needed and Kenrick's handover was informative & complete. While our week away coincided with the North Island's first winter storm, the van provided a cosy retreat & easily coped with the winter roads. We look forward to taking another trip in one of Kenrick's vans when the weather is suited to a more adventurous holiday.

We recently had a break using New Zealnad Frontiers.
The service was second to none. We were met at the airport, given afternoon tea and a tour of our van, and had full back up for the duration. The van was small, so easy to park and drive the windy northland roads. The power to weight ratio was fantastic, no big queues behind us. Lying in bed listening to the surf break on the adjacent beach is to be reccommended. Top marks Kenrick.

My wife Joyce and I booked our trip to New Zealand in August 2019 and Kenrick was most helpful from the start, providing lots of useful information for us as first time visitors to NZ and motor home users
. He gave us tips about our entry into NZ as well as recommending alternative interesting ways of seeing the country. We booked a comprehensive package and were very pleased with the quality of the van and the way it was kitted out. Kenrick collected us from our hotel and took us to his headquarters to collect the van. He gave us a thorough "tour" of the van and all its facilities and gave us the "low down" on driving and road etiquette in NZ. After taking over the van, we only needed a supply of groceries before we were ready for our trip.
We had no problems with the van on what turned out to be a shortened trip due to Covid-19! We had to leave NZ at short notice half way through our trip and Kenrick was instrumental in getting us to the airport on time and at a very early hour of the day. He did this most willingly, for which we are very grateful.
We have no hesitation in recommending New Zealand Frontiers if you wish an interesting and trouble free camper van holiday in New Zealand.

In July 2019, my wife Pat and I had booked a one month campervan holiday for March 2020 in New Zealand through our travel agent when we stayed a night with my cousin.
She and her husband had had a campervan holiday in NZ 4 years before and told us how good Kenrick Mitchell and his NZ Frontiers were, encouraging us to change from the big company campervan booked by our travel agent if we could. This was done, to the credit of our travel agent whom we have used several times before, and Kenrick has lived up to his reputation throughout our holiday. The van, with 300,000 k on the odometer, ran perfectly and the engine compartment looked like new. The coolant and brake fluid levels remained on their correct marks and the oil needed no topping up (from the container provided) throughout the almost 4000 k we covered before we were stopped by the Covid-19 lockdown, midnight 25 March. Our scheduled flight home from Christchurch on 31 March was cancelled and we stayed in an excellent campsite near Christchurch airport, 219onJohns, until we were able to get flights home, via Auckland, on 10 April. Kenrick reduced his daily rate for the extra 11 days to reflect the fact that we were only driving the van on occasional short trips to the supermarket for food and made arrangements for us to leave the van at the campsite, being under lockdown himself. We found the van very well equipped. Hot water worked quickly and plentifully - Pat and I had showers one after the other with no problems. The gas heater worked well, as did the 2 ring gas hob and the fridge. We did not use the air conditioning or the microwave but the TV gave us a window on the world through our immobile fortnight and Kenrick left us a couple of film DVDs as well. The bed worked very well and was most comfortable and the table's adjustability was useful. We did have some queries during the trip, of a minor nature and Kenrick was always there to answer the phone and help. We recommend him without reservation.

We would highly recommend New Zealand Frontiers. Kenrick was responsive and informative from the beginning.
He took time to properly walk us through the campervan and answer any questions we had throughout the entire rental period. We ended up being affected by the covid-19 lockdown in New Zealand and Kenrick was fair, flexible and accommodating throughout. We were very relieved to be dealing with a small business and a real person instead of a large company/chain.

We hired a campervan from New Zeland Frontiers for 5 weeks.
We had a great time and the van was in perfect condition. We had done the same thing in Australia with Maui and it was terrible (no hot water, toilets leaking even thou we left the van for 4 days to fix it). Kenrick Mitchell, the owner of the company has been great. Taking the time to explain every thing and being reachable during our whole trip. We felt very secure and the service was friendly and efficient. The icing on the cake: Kendrick delivered the campervan to our hotel and picked it up where we stayed the last day. He organised the ticket for the ferry between the North and the South Island as well.

The service is completely personalised and professional. There are no hidden costs which seems to be an issue with other campervan rentals. Kenrick picked us up from our Auckland hotel and took the time to fully explain all of the campervan features to us. The campervan ran perfectly throughout our trip, in any event Kenrick had made clear that he was fully on hand in case of any issues.

We booked our NZ honeymoon adventure over the Christmas break 2019-2020.
We spent a long time doing our research on camper van options for NZ, looking at all the bigger companies and what they had to offer; large security deposits, lots of additional extras if you want them, and expensive hire rates (we were travelling at peak times so this was no big surprise). Then we found New Zealand Frontiers...
Their website was filled with information about their 2 Berth Deluxe models, with detailed information about the vans features, and costs, and all the additional things included in the hire (sat nav, unlimited kilometers, picnic table and chairs, low excess, and Road User Charges to name but a few). From the first email our communications with Kenrick were fantastic, and we had no issues whatsoever in organising the hire over the peak period. Upon arriving in Auckland, Kenrick collected us from our hotel before taking us to deal with some paperwork, where we met his family, had a coffee, and received lots of helpful information about travelling in NZ. Upon meeting Kenrick we instantly felt at ease and knew we had made the correct decision for this hire. The van was immaculate - it's clear Kenrick really does take great pride in his vans. In addition,
the on road service from New Zealand Frontiers was icredible, with no issue too small to drop Kenrick a call for a chat and a quick solution.The service we received from Kenrick at New Zealand Frontiers was absolutely incredible, and we would (and have!) recommend Kenrick and NZF to anyone thinking about giving the camper van adventure in New Zealand a go! You will certainly not be disappointed by the vehicles, or the fantastic service on offer here. We certainly will be back, and we will definitely be booking through Kenrick without any hesitation.

We looked at all rental companies and NZF’s offer stood out as the most honest, without any hidden fees.
Especially the insurance seemed reasonable, unlike everywhere else. From the very first e-mail we received back, we knew we were dealing with a dedicated, experienced proffessional.
New Zealand Frontiers owner Kenrick personally picked us up from Auckland airport and dropped us off when we were ready to head back home. Kenrick answered all our questions as well as questions we did not even think to ask –for example he took his time to go through most common road signs and NZ-specific traffic laws with us.
NZF is much smaller than the other big brands in local campervan rental market, but we believe it’s one of their main strengths. Their fleet is small, but throughout our 3-week trip we had absolutely no issues with the campervan or any of it’s equipment. Although the vehicle was a few years old, it was as clean as new and the diesel engine ran like new – you could see that Kenrick takes great care of his fleet. It’s perfectly balanced between comfort and size - the bed was surprisingly comfortable. There was plenty of room and storage space inside a vehicle not much longer than a station wagon– low fuel consumption and no problems with parking! We felt like it was made for a couple, we had everything we needed, electricity was never an issue and we’ve never ran out of hot water.
Whenever we required assistance, we knew we just had to call Kenrick and we got it immediately, no matter the time of day or day of the week, and always in a very proffessional manner – it gave us peace of mind, we really felt we are being taken care of.
We could not recommend New Zealand Frontiers enough, especially if you are a couple on your first trip to NZ – you will definitely not regret it and probably you can’t get a better deal or more proffessional help anyway. If we ever come back to NZ, we will definitely go with New Zealand Frontiers (NZF).

Travelling New Zealand is a great experience.
In particular using a sturdy and compact campervan like the one which we rented from New Zealand Frontiers. Kenrick, the owner of this small family business, offers a great and reliable service to his customers. Also, there are no hidden costs in his contract and a lot of things included like the Ferry to South Island. If you don´t like the impersonal treat of big rental chains then New Zealand Frontiers is the right camper van rental for you. Starting from getting first information and finalizing the rental contract long months before our holiday to returning the van and closing the last contract obligations after our return from our holiday, Kenrick treats everything very professional, fast and accurate; not forgetting the family treat. He cares about everything himself. We did not have any significant trouble during our 4,200 km. The campervan was brought to our hotel in Auckland and we could choose what time we would like to return it; actually, we picked up Peter from Christchurch airport in the evening. Peter, also a very friendly guy, took over the campervan to be returned to Auckland. Having said this, you don´t have to bring back the campervan to a return station. With New Zealand Frontiers everything is handled upon individual arrangements. We loved our little campervan of 5.5 meters length. The clock showed 300 tkm, by the van was running perfectly; as mentioned: Very sturdy. We are planning to come back to New Zealand. Of course, New Zealand Frontiers will be our first choice! We booked NZ Frontiers because of the glowing reviews.
Kenrick was indeed personable, very informative and always available fully living up to his reputation.
I always think that the measure of a company is not only what they do well, but how they cope when things go wrong.
We booked a motorhome for 60 days. We had a few very minor issues at first which Kenrick sorted promptly, even getting mechanics to call at our campsite so as not to interfere with our trip.
Late in the holiday we had the nightmare scenario, for both him and us, of the motorhome breaking down in a remote area. We could not fault the service we received. Kenrick promptly arranged for recovery, onward accommodation and even a courtesy car while the repairs were quickly carried out. He even offered to drive down with a replacement motorhome. Kenrick kept us fully informed at all stages as to what was happening and got us back on the road very quickly. We, and the mechanic, put it down to “one of those things” and the mechanic advised us it was certainly not due to lack of maintenance which he said was exemplary.
In conclusion we would recommend this company wholeheartedly, for peace of mind and great service. Kenrick will indeed look after you. We would, without hesitation, use NZ Frontiers again - which says it all.

Starting with an excellent and informative web site. Kenrick responded
fast with a quote, his attention to details were amazing. We rented one of his 2 berth camper vans for our 3 week vacation. The unit was exactly what we needed, perfect size, spotless and well maintained. It worked perfectly for the entire trip. Plenty of power and good fuel economy. If you are looking for a campervan rental, do yourself a favour and use New Zealand Frontiers, you won’t be sorry.

Planning our driving trip around the North Island and not being an experienced overseas traveller it was a real Leap of Faith for me to ignore the bigger companies and choose New Zealand Frontiers for
our motorhome hire. What a great decision! From the first point of contact via email to when we shook Kenrick's hand goodbye at the airport as he dropped us off at the end of our amazing trip it was just a totally hassle free experience.
I was going to write a long winded review about how great the van was and how great Kenrick was to deal with but just re-read a few other recent reviews and it's all already there. Once again thanks Kenrick for helping make our trip so memorable.

While planning my trip to New Zealand over a year ago, I began reading various reviews for camper van companies on the web.
I quickly discovered numerous favorable reviews from New Zealand Frontiers and decided this was going to be the company I'll choose for my adventure! I was met at the airport by Kenrick of New Zealand Frontiers and immediately impressed. Such a nice person. Kenrick thoroughly went over the camper van with me and answered ALL of my questions. Kenrick was VERY nice and we spoke over a fresh cup of coffee he had made me. After my 3 week adventure on both islands, I returned the camper van and Kenrick gave me a ride back to the airport. During my trip, Kenrick emailed me with helpful information about road openings/closures and wished me well on my trip! I cannot say in words how much I appreciate Kenrick and his assistance before, during, and after my vacation in New Zealand. New Zealand Frontiers was the most positive experience I have ever had with travel arrangements in foreign lands and I would (and probably will) use them again in the future. I have met a new friend in New Zealand! HIGHLY recommended!!!

I used a New Zealand Frontiers van for the third time this Jan/Feb and found it clean comfortable and it ran very smoothly all around the route.
The kind friendly advice available at anytime was also a valuable asset during another epic voyage around this beautiful country. Juliet
