Hired a tandem and managed to get around five wineries. Had a delicious lunch at Wairau River Winery. Owners were lovely and very knowledgeable. An excellent day out!

Steve and Jo provided us with the best wine tasting experience I've ever had.
The bikes were a perfect way to get around. Very easy to ride. Steve and Jo provide you with water and a map of all the wineries, which they go over with you before taking off on your tour. We found that very informational and helpful. They picked us up from Blenheim and dropped us off after our tour. When dropping us off, we asked Jo for some dinner recommendations in town and she drove us first to our accommodation and then to a few different restaurants so we would know how to walk there. Aside from being the most friendly, kind, and genuine couple, they really go above and beyond for their customers. I would highly recommend renting their bikes.

What makes this special is the owner Nigel engagement with his client and genuine enthusiasm for the region.
Rather than just give you a bike and say good luck, he was happy to spend time talking about the different characteristics of the wineries to help plan the day. He suggested some routes, showed the distances and even gave some lunch suggestions. The bikes come with panniers adapted to hold 4 bottles. If you have any problems Nigel would come out with a spare bike - no need to worry about punctures etc.
Give yourself the full day, spend plenty of time at the wineries and just enjoy yourself. Final tip - bring a day rucksack if you can - so that you can carry more than the 4 bottles :-)

What a find!
Rang up and spoke with Nigel who also suggested we could park our camper on their property amongst their 20 acres of vineyards...umm yes please! So we hired two of their super bikes (with bottle holders - 8 bottles for us for the day thank you very much) and after having a route explained we took off...what a sensational way to tour the Marlborough wine region, lovely sunny day, about 8 wineries visited with an amazing lunch at Alan Scotts to soak up some grog and all in all a very happy day. The best bit was returning our bikes and weaving 10 metres back to our camper parked amongst the vines, no one else in sight an amazing sunset..bbq lamb and a couple of bottles of pinot gris and sav blanc..um yes please may i have another?
Absolutely sensational!

We had the same incredible experience with Nigel, Wine Tours by Bike, and camping on his property! Nigel was a great guy. Winery tour was super fun on bikes. And our campsite was magical! All to ourselves with unending views of vineyards and hills in the distance that reminded us of California (home). Loved it!

Good bicycles with baskets to carry wine bottles (5 each bicycle).
Good advice which vineyards were the best, also assistance when needed. Minus - expensive in comparison with other bicycle rental companies.

A fantastic opportunity to see the vineyards.
Excellent bikes, friendly staff, informative maps with detailed routes planned. Finished the day with the purchase of some delicious wine! I would strongly recommend a whole days touring, as half a day simply wasn't enough time! =)

Wine Tours by Bike provided us a fantastic opportunity to venture out into the Marlborough region and visit vineyards that produce some of the world’s best wine.
My husband and I both agreed that this was one of our favorite excursions while traveling in New Zealand.
The bikes we rented were in excellent condition, and most importantly, they were equipped with ample space to carry the wine we picked up along the route. We decided to book a half-day to visit the vineyards but at the end we wanted to keep going! I would strongly recommend a whole day. There are so many more vineyards than we anticipated and getting around was easy (no hills), so a whole day would certainly be possible for anyone who is capable of riding a bike! We were given a map with a planned route to get us around with ease, ensuring we wouldn’t miss any of the main vineyards with the time we had.
I would strongly recommend Wine Tours by Bike; we had such a fabulous day.

This was the highlight of our NZ trip.
By far the best way to tour the wonderful vineyards of Marlborough. The experience was tailored to our tastes with great recommendations by the very friendly staff. We were reassured to know that the support service would rescue us if we had a flat tyre or break down. Do a full day.

Ideal way to see the differing vineyards, but maps given are not to scale and you end up cycling greater distances than you planned for.Staff very helpful though and wine is to die for!
