    Stayed two nights.

The entrance is in the bend of the road. Nice clean hot shower and toilet. Nice helpful manager. Dumbstation and fresh water. Clean but not too spacy places. 7 km to River walk and all facilities in town. We experienced only low sounds from the adjecent road.

    22May24.

2 adults in motorhome on powered site. $45.

Level sites close to toilets and showers. As in previous reviews there are 2 toilets and 2 showers in new-ish units. They are under cover too. A pity one of the showers was out of order.

Close to the highway so some road noise but not so bad.

A good park and friendly host.

A small family run site with several powered hard standing areas and a well maintained, level grass area for tents/small vans not requiring power.

There are two toilets and two showers which looked new and were immaculate and also a laundry area with coin a coin operated washing machine and dryer. Change was available at the office. There is no kitchen or dining area (which is made very clear on the website and at the time of booking), but several picnic benches and also an outdoor washing up area. It was a perfect stop between Paihia and Kerikeri.

Stayed for one night heading up to the top.

2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 adults cost us $45. Gravel parking spots all pretty level. Not very wide but long enough. 2 grassy areas either side to walk around on with dogs. No kitchen but one outdoor wash up area. 2 new toilets & showers - free. The main road into Kerikeri is right there but didn’t even notice it at night. Host was cruisey, lovely and really accomodating. The only thing we’d love is a little kids play area.

Starlink shared to everybody in the campsite. With half of the camping spots empty I only had 3,7 mbps download and 1,4 upload on a new Mac. Not enough for a simple videocall.

Although it's next to the highway it's a very tidy, almost quiet place that's well looked after.

The showers and toilets were perfectly clean and the hot shower was included.

There is a washing machine and a dryer (2x2$ coins each), which we couldn't use because we didn't have enough coins and it was already late.

There is no kitchen but a sink outdoors with potable water. I didn't expect much of this place but I was positively surprised.

Costs: 40$ unpowered / 45$ powered site for 2 persons.

A nice quiet well priced camping ground with pleasant owners but with limited facilities.

Leave time for camping vans - with no exceptions - is 10am the reason being that the toilets and showers can be cleaned, seem unnecessary especially as camping vans leave no mess. Understandable for units. Would stay there again.

Martin greeted us on arrival, despite it being out of office hours, and was friendly and helpful.

The toilets and showers were really clean, the cleanest out of the places we’ve stayed. Lovely hot water for a shower and for washing up. Laundry facilities that take 2 x $2. It is a nice campsite, good location to stop off on the way up the coast. Would definitely recommend staying here. There are only 2 showers and toilets but was not very busy when we were there and was not a problem.

I wasn’t as taken with this campground as other reviewers, mostly because they charged me as a solo traveler for 2 people which hasn’t happened anywhere else in NZ in 3 months of camper vanning.

So for $40, it wasn’t good value for money especially given that the facilities are kind of odd. There are only 2 unisex showers & 2 unisex toilets created out of porta loo cabins so they’re on the cramped side. They’re new, clean, the water is hot, the pressure is ok. The 2 toilets lack soap & sanitary bins for female travelers. With the camp full, I would imagine there’d be a queue for the facilities. The outdoor dishwashing sink would probably also have a queue in peak season. A soap dispenser was there but empty. The pitches are slightly off level, but not too bad. There are bright lights above the power sockets which could be put in a timer so they don’t shine in your windows all night. The camp is right next to the highway, so expect some traffic noise at night.

    HI, Thanks for your review.

Couple of things to mention. We charge per site. Basically as a single camper you still take a full site. If you were two adults and two children under 5 you still only pay the basic site charge. We cannot fund single campers, sorry.

The toilets are not Portaloos. They are purpose designed units at cost just under $40,000

Also, your review assumes we could not cope in summer. This is not true because we are only a small bespoke site.

The night lights are a health and safety requirement so that in the case of an evacuation, people can safely navigate to the assembly point.

Location. There are no campsites next to the road. Re the noise. It is true this is elevated in the case of an eastern wind as this carries the noise towards the site.

We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us, and have taken your comments on board.

We hope you have a wonderful time in New Zealand

All the very best from our family to yours

Being two happy campers for the first time, this Camping grounds is in a very good spot and is close to Beaches and Attractions, me and my husband are in our 40's and we loved our stay and recommend it

to anyone looking for a reasonable priced stay. We think it was the cheapest place around that area, they are Very clean and tidy camping grounds. Also you cannot go past the two beautiful owners, always willing to help you with your stay. The grounds also have a laundry for you to use and the Toilet and showers are very clean and tidy. We have recommended this place to our family friends in New Zealand. This will always be one of our Number one stops for Camping 👍✌

Stayed at Wagon Wheel Holiday park in Kerikeri for 4 days.

Camp site was very clean and quiet.

    Nice clean showers and toilets.

Plenty of hot water all the time.

Not a large site so was very welcoming and Martin the owner gave us personal attention and advice on places of interest in the area.

Shops, launderette, restaurants and cafés only five minutes down the road.

If in the North again would not hesitate to stay at Wagon Wheel Holiday park
