Meet The Team
Holly has moved back to Gisborne after working internationally as a designer then running a surf school on the Kapiti Coast. She was a competitive junior surfer representing NZ over 10 times. She now focusses on learn to surf for all levels and progressive women’s sessions.
Jay has relocated from England to Gisborne, New Zealand with his family, and will be available for private and advanced coaching lessons. Jay has competed internationally as a professional surfer, and has a world of competitive experience to pass on.

Salt Shack Surf School
Salt Shack Surf School is run by brother and sister duo, Holly and Jay Quinn, both World class surfers and qualified Surfing New Zealand coaches. After 3 years on the Kapiti Coast, Salt Shack is now open in Gisborne.
Weekday surf lesson sessions run Mondays and Wednesdays for Kids and Ladies, Workshops are released each month for advanced coaching with guests coaches. School groups and coaching events can be booked privately.

Three or more so years ago, I never, even in my imagination, thought I'd able to get up on a surfboard and surf, let alone get hooked, until my son and I did lessons with Holly and Jay.
Regardless of what level you are in at surfing; whether you want to learn, progress or refine your surfing skills, I would highly recommend contacting Salt Shack Surf School for coaching sessions. Salt Shack Surf School is now based in Gisborne where waves are aplenty! Holly also runs epic ladies surf and yoga camps - a must do not just for what you can learn and improve but also the lasting friendships with other like minded ladies!
